Abstract

During April 2020, the city of Palu experienced inflation of 0.17 percent which was influenced by the increase in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group (1.26 percent); household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance (0.03 percent); food and beverage / restaurant supply group (0.06 percent); and the personal care and other services group (0.87 percent). While the price index decline occurred in the transportation group (0.55 percent), as well as the information, communication and financial services group (1.99 percent). Meanwhile, the clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups; health groups, recreation groups, sports and culture; and the education group did not experience a change in the price index this month.
In April 2020, the inflation rate for calendar year (January-April) 2020 in Palu City was 0.10 percent and year on year inflation (April 2020 against April 2019) was 1.71 percent. Palu City inflation of 0.17 percent was contributed by the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.32 percent; the personal care and other services group by 0,05 percent, and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.01 percent. While the groups that contributed negatively to inflation in April 2020 were the information, communication and financial services group (0.13 percent) and the transportation group (0.08 percent).
