Abstract

  • The number and percentage of poor people in Central Sulawesi during the period 2012 - 2016 tended to decrease, although in the recent period of fluctuation. In 2012 in September the number of poor people by 410.98 thousand people (14.94 percent), the month of March 2013 as much as 406.97 thousand people (14.67 percent), the month of September 2013 as much as 400.41 thousand inhabitants (14.32 percent), March 2014, as many as 392.65 thousand people (13.93 percent), the month of September 2014 as much as 387.06 thousand people (13.61 percent), the month of March 2015 as much as 421.63 thousand people (14.66 percent) , September 2015 as much as 406.34 thousand people (14.07 percent), the month of March 2016 as much as 420.52 thousand people (14.45 percent), and the month of September 2016 as much as 413.15 thousand people (14.09 percent).
  • Compared to the state in March 2016, the poverty rate in Central Sulawesi down as much as 7.37 thousand inhabitants, or down 0.36 percent point. During the period March 2016 - September 2016, the poor in urban areas increased by about 0.45 thousand inhabitants, while in rural areas is reduced by about 7,82 thousand inhabitants.
  • The period March 2016 - September 2016, the poverty line rose by 1.89 percent, from Rp. 375 659, - per capita per month in March 2016 to Rp. 382 775, - per capita per month in September 2016.
  • The period March 2016 - September 2016, Poverty Depth Index (P1) shows a decrease from 2.72 to 2.28. This indicates that the average expenditure gap of each of the poor to the poverty line is much smaller, meaning that the average expenditure of the poor tend to be closer to the poverty line or to a better direction.
  • Poverty Severity Index (P2) also showed a decrease from 0.73 in the period March 2016 to 0.56 in the period of September 2016. It showed inequality between the poor spending has narrowed.
