Abstract

CPI monitoring of 82 cities nationwide, 48 cities experienced inflation and 34 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in Kota Sibolga at 1.32 percent, while the highest deflation occurred in Sorong at 1.10 percent. Kota Palu deflation of 0.95 percent, ranks second highest in the deflationary Sulampua Region and 3rd nationally.
  • Decreasing price index occurred in the group of food expenditure (4.06 per cent) and transport, communications, and financial services (2.01 percent). While the price index increase occurred in the group expenditure processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.84 percent), clothing (0.35 percent), housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel (0.18 percent), and health (0.06 percent). While the group spending on education, recreation and sports during October 2016 was relatively stable.
  • the Inflation rate of calendar year  in Palu until October 2016 is deflation and inflation of 0.14 percent year on year (October 2016 to October 2015) was recorded at 2.29 percent.
