Abstract

  • CPI monitoring of 82 cities nationwide, as many as 62 cities experienced inflation while 20 other cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation was in the city of Manado, at 1.16 percent, while the highest deflation occurred in the city of Jambi at 1.40 percent. Palu City experienced inflation of 0.29 percent, ranks 11th highest inflation Sulampua Region and 42nd nationally.
  • Price index increase occurred in expenditure groups housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel (1.87 percent), transport, communications, and financial services (0.70 percent), clothing (0.37 percent), food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.10 percent), and health (0.08 percent). The food category during the February 2017 price index decreased by 1.53 percent, while the education, recreation, and sport relatively unchanged.
  • The inflation rate in February 2017 calendar year amounted to 1.61 percent, while inflation year on year (February 2017 to February 2016) Palu is at 4.19 percent.
