PALU – The Palu City Central Statistics Agency released that during October 2021, Palu City experienced inflation of 0.05 percent. The price index increase occurred in the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group (0.46 percent), the personal care and other services group (0.43 percent), the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group (0, 29 percent), the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.11 percent), and the information, communication and financial services group (0.09 percent). Meanwhile, the groups that gave a negative contribution were the transportation group at 0.0709 percent and the clothing and footwear group at 0.0197 percent. "Meanwhile, the decline in the price index occurred in the transportation group (0.53 percent) and the clothing and footwear group (0.3 percent). "Meanwhile, the health group, recreation, sports and culture group, education group, and food and beverage/restaurant provision group this month were relatively stable," said the Head of Palu City BPS. He also said that in October 2021 the inflation rate for the calendar year for the City of Palu was 1.17 percent and year on year inflation (October 2021 to October 2020) was 1.84 percent. Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, 68 cities experienced inflation and 22 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sampit at 2.06 percent and the lowest in Banyuwangi and Sumenep at 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at 0.70 percent and the lowest in Bengkulu at 0.02 percent. Palu City inflation ranks 59th nationally, and 11th in the Sulampua region.
