Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 70 cities experienced deflation and 12 cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Sibolga by 1.94 percent and the lowest in Surabaya by 0.02 percent. Meulaboh City experienced the highest inflation of 0.91 percent, while Watampone and Palopo City experienced the lowest inflation of 0.01 percent. The city of Palu ranks 8th in the highest deflation in the Sulampua region and 31st nationally.
  • Price index decreases in the foodstuffs category and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups by 3.60 percent and 0.13 percent respectively. While the education, recreation and sports group experienced a price index increase of 1.45 percent, followed by the transportation, communication and financial services group (1.27 percent), clothing (1.24 percent), processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.28 percent), and health (0.22 percent).
  • Inflation for the calendar year September 2019 to December 2018 was 1.40 percent, while year on year inflation (September 2019 to September 2018) was 5.71 percent.
