Abstract

From 82 cities monitoring national CPI, 68 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong City at 1.47 percent and the lowest in Surabaya City by 0.03 percent.
The increase in the price index occurred in the foodstuff category (1.22 percent), processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.69 percent), health (0.21 percent), clothing (0.12 percent), and education, recreation and sports (0.09 percent). While the transport, communication and financial services group as well as housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group experienced a decrease in price index respectively by 1.21 percent and 0.05 percent.
The inflation rate for the July 2018 calendar year was 3.43 percent and year on year inflation (July 2018 against July 2017) was recorded at 3.77 percent.
